Curious about how to enjoy that delectable jar of Creamy Honey?

You know that crazy (for us) thing we did a few months back...MacKinnon Christmas Market. It seems eons ago now but funny enough, the biggest take away from that event is that people are unsure of how to consume creamy honey. I meant to share ideas about this right after the event and promptly forgot but since someone asked me in the bakery this week, the idea is fresh in my mind again so here we go...

To begin, it's important to note that our creamy honey is raw and unpasteurized, ensuring it retains all its health benefits.

It is not heated or filtered, only stirred slowly for 36 hours and then amplified by a touch of an organic ingredient -  in our case it’s organic cinnamon, freeze dried organic raspberries, organic pumpkin spice or organic cocoa. If flavoured isn't your thing there's plain creamy summer blossom honey too.

Note... creamy honey is not the same as crystallized honey.

The smooth and spreadable nature of creamy honey with its' built in no mess really transforms it into a culinary gem. I mean just slathering it on toast is the perfect way to enjoy it but here are some other ways too….

Here are some ways to enjoy Creamy Honey:

Morning Oatmeal Bliss
Kick the brown sugar to the curb and elevate your daily oatmeal by drizzling it with our Cinnamon Swirl Honey. I like to dress up my oatmeal like a salad, add a dollop of Greek yogurt, some seeds maybe, and a small sprinkling of raisins or dried cranberries and then a generous dollop of honey that melts into the oatmeal. Give it a stir - this is a great healthy way to kickstart your day! Yum!

Glazed Vegetables Extravaganza
Break the mold by using honey in savoury dishes. Our Creamy Honey Cinnamon makes a superb glaze for roasted carrots, sweet potatoes or squash. Drizzle it just before they're done, and you’ll have yourself caramelized goodness with a hint of cinnamon.

Gourmet Coffee or Tea
Make your daily coffee or tea ritual special by adding a dollop of Creamy Honey. Stir in a spoonful to transform your beverage into a gourmet experience. This is especially good with our pumpkin spice, chocolate or cinnamon swirl.

Energy Ball Magic
For a nutritious snack to get you through your afternoon slump, I swear energy balls are the answer. Energy Balls are so easy to make and are the perfect afternoon pick me up…with zero refined sugar. Here’s our favourite recipe …

Easy NO Bake Energy Balls
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats (organic preferably)
- 1/2 cup nut butter of your choice (almond is my go to)
- 1/3 cup honey (Of course Maple Ridge Farm raw and unpasteurized)
- 1/2 cup of add ins (sunflower seeds, flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, mini chocolate chips, coconut, dried fruit like raisins, chopped dates or cranberries)
- a splash of  vanilla
 - a pinch of sea salt

Instructions:
  1. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, and your add ins as well as the salt
  1. Add Nut Butter, Vanilla and Honey (you can warm this mixture slightly or just stir with intention)
  1. Mix Thoroughly:
Stir the ingredients until well combined or use your hands to mix. The mixture should be sticky and easily moldable.
  1. Roll into Balls:
Roll it into bite-sized energy balls - size is up to you. If the mixture is too sticky you can chill in the fridge for a bit.
Place the energy balls in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for a quick and energizing snack. They can be enjoyed immediately or kept for up to two weeks.

Get creative, experiment with different combinations, like cinnamon swirl with raisin add ins, or white chocolate chips, and dried cranberries with the raspberry delight honey.

Adjust the ingredients to suit your taste preferences. Make some energy balls this week! You’ll be glad you did!
